What is an experience that made you appreciate life more?

The most experience that made me to appreciate more my life in many aspects happened this year. All started in China when many notices explain that a virus started to spread to all china and then for other countries around of China. with the time this virus called COVID-19 arrive to all the countries and one of this countries was Guatemala, my country. Not all the countries were prepared for an pandemic and one of the countries were the less civilized like Guatemala.

Since the pandemic is in Guatemala my life changed for complete. Because of the pandemic many things changed for everyone and the quarantine had to be executed. That meant that one could not leave the house, not be able to meet friends or family, not go out to the streets or to the commercials and among other things. Since the president told us that everything was going to be closed, it was something unexpected for everyone since we are not used to everything being closed. But this pandemic affected in large part thousands of people as many lost their jobs and homes because everything was closed. Thousands of people starving and asking for money for food. That was something that largely marked my life since I was very selfish with myself and did not settle for anything. While thousands of people had nothing they were looking for how to move on but I got angry for eating the same thing and for being in the same place for months.

Another point was that while I was locked up for the quarantine I no longer knew what to do while locked up. Since you can not do many things at home and wanted to go out no matter what. But I came to learn that you have to follow the rules when they say you have to stay home. Since many people for not following the instructions of the president and the government, they were very affected since they were contaminated with the virus causing many to die from this cause. Over time I realized that if I hadn't listened, I could have been affected. I was also able to learn to live more with my parents and my younger sister since I was not very close to them.

The pandemic can have its advantages and disadvantages. But the pandemic could teach me many things that I did not know. Since we are very into a world where everything is based on technology, traveling, buying and selling. But we never rely on the family that is there for us and we are all there to support each other. As in this situation, thousands of people donated food and money for the affected people and there it is shown how we work together.
